Overall great experience in adopting our sweet kitten Strawberry 🍓, Filled up application online & showed up, paid the adoption fee, was given all instructions info needed! Happy with the outcome! Thank you so much! We recommend this Gulf Coast Humane Society if your looking into adding a furry friend into your family! Adopt a pet! ❤️❤️❤️ We have had Strawberry 🍓 for 16 days today already & she is such a joy to have in our home! ❤️🥰
Called today after trying to find help locally for a stray cat that is in real bad shape. Told me they were at capacity then recommended that I call rescues that already called before calling them. Not enough services is the south tx area for stray animals. Very disappointed with the lack of caring of this humane society. Know your area, have numbers to call, know who will help in an emergency situation and have these numbers ready to give out.
Staff were very nice and the animals look well cared for. Please don't shop, ADOPT! The shelter was pretty full of sweet dogs and cats.
Very rude person on the phone, her last reply to me was "whatever" when I told her she was of no help. A simple, "I'm sorry " would have been better. Several days later I surrendered a cat I couldn't keep and the lady in the front office not the desk was very rude. Even the way she handed me the IPad I noticed her rudeness. I got a sick cat and couldn't get an appointment because all clinics were closed for the holidays. I thought I did what was best for the cat. Apparently they are two faced, nice when you adopt, and ugly when you return a pet. Never ever again and recommend Craigslist over this place.
Always a great place to find a new tribe member. Our newest member, Felix is just awesome, and it's thanks to the great volunteers here that we even had the opportunity to bring him home.
This really is an amazing animal shelter. All of the staff are incredibly friendly and helpful in finding a perfect companion for you.
I have adopted both of my cats from here! They give you take home food and a free visit with one of multiple available vets for a health checkup. They are very good about letting you play with and handle any potential felines you’re looking at specifically. They also let them take turns playing in the room outside of their cages so they aren’t cramped in tiny cages all day. I’ve never had any issues health wise or behavior wise with my cats and their spay incisions healed perfectly. 10/10 would adopt here again!
I also fostered many cats for a local rescue and anytime I had an intake for them here they were very professional.
I went to your clinic Friday and the heavy set women with colored hair was aweful. She was so rude. I went Thursday as well and she was rude then too. My dogs were done and the vet tells me one tested positive for heart worms.
The lady said something along the lines of “i hope you know this is serious. It’s your fault. You didn’t do what you needed and now you have to pay out of your own pocket. Treatment is expensive.” Blah blah. Going down my throat. I wanted to cry. The vet was kind. But this lady made me feel like I didn’t care for my dogs. I called after I left to complain and complained there too.
I have the money for treatment thank you, just because I came to your low cost clinic does not mean you can treat me some type of way base on your assumptions.
I took my dog to a vet today and thankfully she tested negative surprisingly. So I guess I got treated so poorly for nothing.
